About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and passionate Growing Assistant to join our team. This role is hands-on and varied, covering all aspects of vertical farm operations and crop care, while also contributing to the growth of a fast-moving early-stage agritech company. You will gain unique experience in Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA), supporting crop production, farm maintenance, and operational processes. This position is ideal for someone excited about both horticulture and technology, and who wants to help shape the future of food.

Key Responsibilities

• Crop management: seed selection, germination, plant transfers, pruning, harvesting, monitoring crops for pests, disease, and nutritional issues

• Maintaining growing conditions: light, temperature, humidity, nutrient and pH solutions, cleaning

• Preparing produce for delivery, liaising with procurement and logistics team

• Learning about and assisting with our closed-loop NFT systems (pumps, sensors, circuit breakers)

• Supporting production targets and following SOPs for food safety, hygiene, and plant health

• Contributing to wider business activities typical of an early-stage company

• Observant and detail-oriented with ability to spot and report issues

• Curious and motivated to learn new skills and technologies

Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Agriculture, Horticulture, Plant Science, Environmental Science, or related field (advantageous but not essential)

• Prior experience in CEA, hydroponics, or horticulture is a plus

• Strong problem-solving and communication skills

• Willingness to undertake diverse responsibilities across the business
